Whether we interact with them as family members, neighbors, or fleeting encounters throughout the day, our conduct leaves an indelible mark on their understanding of the world. Yet, it's easy to forget this profound responsibility, often dismissing the impact of our actions because we don't perceive these children as our own. But the truth remains: children are always watching, learning, and absorbing the lessons we impart, consciously or unconsciously.""My observation of unusual scenarios has reinforced my belief in fostering an environment where every child can thrive as compassionate and empowered individuals, championing gender equality and family well-being. Recently, I found myself on a four-hour bus journey, a trip that would unexpectedly become #a poignant lesson on respect and communication. Beside me sat a man with his small son, engrossed in an animated phone conversation with someone. As the miles passed, I couldn’t help but overhear snippets of his conversation, where he suggested a woman wear a blue dress with silver jewelry and complimented her long hair. His tone was warm and considerate, discussing food and family in a friendly manner.

As the journey continued, his son asked if he could call his mother. The man agreed, and soon the boy was chatting happily with his mom, asking if she had eaten breakfast. After a few minutes, he handed the phone to his father, saying, “Mom wants to talk to you.”

What happened? next was jarring. The father’s tone shifted dramatically as he began shouting at his wife, “Don’t you know I’m commuting? Foolish woman, how long is the journey! I haven’t eaten anything, guarding your child, and how dare you ask why my phone is busy and who I’m talking to!” The bus fell silent as his harsh words echoed, and the wife quietly disconnected the call.

Witnessing this stark contrast in behavior was troubling. It made me reflect on #the critical role fathers play as role models for their children, particularly in demonstrating respect towards mothers. Children learn by observing, and the way a father treats the mother of his children profoundly impacts their understanding of respect, communication, and love.

"Reinforcing this, Once we returned home and settled in, I decided to talk to my son about what we had witnessed on the bus following #Kolb's experiential learning ,four cycle Theory "Feeling➖ Watching➖ Thinking ➖Doing just to transform this case study  into a meaningful learning experience. I sat down with him and gently began the conversation:

Did you remember the man we saw on the bus today? The one who was talking on the phone a lot?' He nodded, and I continued, 'Did you notice how kindly he spoke to the lady on the phone but then shouted at his wife?'

My son looked thoughtful and said, 'Yeah, that wasn’t nice.'

I agreed, 'Exactly. It's really important to always be kind and respectful, no matter who we’re talking to. How do you feel when someone shouts at you?'

'Bad,' he replied.

'Right,' I said. 'So, we should always try to speak kindly to others, even if we’re upset. What do you think the man could have done differently when talking to his wife?'

He paused for a moment and then said, 'He could have told her nicely that he was busy.'

'That’s a great idea,' I affirmed. 'Being polite and calm helps everyone feel better. Let’s remember that in our family, too. Treating each other with respect and kindness is very important. Do you think we can work on that together?'

With a nod, my son agreed, and I felt hopeful that this conversation would help us both practice better communication and respect in our daily lives."

"This bus journey reaffirmed my belief in our #shared responsibility to shape a better world for all children.
